On September 12-17, 2017, Lake Forest will again host the BMW Championship at Conway Farms Golf Club. Named "Tournament of the Year" by the PGA Tour when it was in Lake Forest in 2015, the BMW Championship is conducted by the Western Golf Association for the benefit of the Evans Scholars Foundation. The BMW Championship is the penultimate event of the PGA Tour's Playoffs for the FedEx Cup. The top 30 will compete at the Tour Championship to determine the winner of the FedEx Cup. Founded in 1899 as the Western Open, the Tournament is the second oldest in the U.S. behind the U.S. Open. NBC and The Golf Channel will broadcast the entire tournament.
Parking: The best option for Lake Foresters or those coming in by train is to use the free shuttles from both Lake Forest's East Train Station (701 N. McKinley Road) or Telegraph Road Train Station (911 S. Telegraph Road), going directly to the Tournament. Taxi and limo drop-offs are directed to the Telegraph Road Train Station.
All proceeds from the BMW Championship benefit the Evans Scholars Foundation, which has sent more than 10,000 student caddies to college since 1930. Since 2007, the event has raised more than $19.6 million for the program.
