| The Senior Resources Commission consists of seven members -- two
to three from the Village of Lake Bluff and four to five from The City
of Lake Forest. Commissioners from Lake Bluff are appointed by the
Village President with the approval of the Village Board. Likewise,
Commissioners from Lake Forest are appointed by the Mayor with the
approval of the City Council. Commissioners are appointed to two year
terms and may serve up to three terms (six years maximum in total).
The
purpose of the Commission is to present recommendations to the management
of Dickinson Hall and local governments for programs and services that will help
preserve the dignity, independence and quality of life of older adults in
the community. The SRC will advocate for older adults on issues that
include: education, family dynamics, financial matters, health, housing,
in-home support, social needs, transportation and volunteer activities.
The SRC also provides a representative to the Lake Forest Housing Trust
Fund Board and to the Lake Forest Lake Bluff Senior Foundation, a
separate not-for-profit organization that is responsible for fund
raising for Dickinson Hall.
The Senior Resources Commission meets bi-monthly at 1:00 p.m. on the
second Thursday.
Meetings are held at Dickinson Hall, 100 East Old Mill Road in Lake Forest.
