Gorton Commission

The Gorton Commission was re-established on January 3, 2011, to serve as a private-not-for-profit entity affiliated with the City to promote community activities of public interest and to bring together civic organizations for the betterment, benefit and cultural enjoyment of the community. Commissioners serve for either one or two years, and no commissioner may serve for more than six consecutive years, except those commissioners first appointed to initial terms of one year may serve for three full two-year terms following such initial appointments.

The Commission meets the second Monday of the month at 5:30 p.m. at Gorton Community Center, 400 E. Illinois Road.
