Local Solutions Program
One of the primary benefits of Home Rule is the
flexibility given a community to implement local solutions to
address local problems. Examples of issues Lake Forest has
faced in the past include the desire to:
- license landscapers and contractors (including
roofers);
- implement property maintenance regulation for rental
properties;
- develop an appropriate affordable housing plan for
Lake Forest; and
- enact zoning restrictions on day care facilities.
As a resident, you might have an idea as to how the City
could use this flexibility to respond to issues that impact
the quality of life in Lake Forest. If you have thoughts to

messages and include your name, address and phone #
(optional). An acknowledgement will sent to you and the suggestion
will be forwarded to the City Council. You will then be
notified of the City Council's action.
