Landscape Maintenance License

The Lake Forest City Council approved an ordinance requiring that landscape maintenance and arborist firms obtain a license in order to work within the City limits. The ordinance was passed in order to protect the community and create awareness of which companies are beautifying our neighborhoods. Additionally, residents can be assured that the firm they hire maintains appropriate insurance and that their quality of service meets the standards they represent.

The companies should register annually with the City by March 1. A registration fee of $100 must be paid at which time the firm will receive important information, including copies of the landscape maintenance, tree preservation and noise ordinances, a brochure on safe practices to help protect our ravines, and a map indicating the “No Truck” routes.

A list of firms registered to operate within The City of Lake Forest is posted below. For additional details, please call 847-810-3676.

Registered Landscapers (80k - 4 pages)

By obtaining a license with the City, residents can be assured that appropriate insurance is maintained by the landscape firm or arborists they hire. While the City maintains a list of registered firms, it cannot endorse a particular firm over another.
