The
City of Lake Forest’s Twenty-Sixth Annual Tree Lighting
Ceremony
The City of Lake Forest’s 26th Annual Tree Lighting
Ceremony will be held on Friday, November 27, 2009, on Western Avenue at the Union
Pacific Depot building west of the railroad tracks. This
annual event has become a traditional gathering of family,
friends and visitors to the community when the trees on
Western Avenue and in historic Market Square are set aglow
with thousands of twinkling lights.
There will be an Ice Sculpting performance by Art Below
Zero from 2:30 – 4:30 p.m., then Santa visits Market Square
from 4:00 – 5:30 p.m., followed by caroling with the Lake
Forest High School Choristers at 4:45 p.m. The lights are
set aglow at 5:15 p.m. For safety reasons, Western Avenue
between Deerpath and Westminster will be closed to vehicular
traffic from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
For children and the young-at-heart, there will be a
special visit by Santa Claus, and everyone can enjoy
complimentary hot chocolate, donuts and cider provided by
Aramark.
This event is sponsored by The City of Lake Forest and
Lake Forest Bank & Trust Company. |
