The Community Development Department is responsible for managing new development and infill development throughout the community from the initial planning through the issuance of a Certificate of Occupancy.  The department is also responsible for the review and approval all construction plans for conformance with applicable building codes as well as conducting site inspections for all projects, including general construction, plumbing, electrical and HVAC mechanical systems. Community Development staff members work closely with the Fire Prevention Bureau to ensure conformance with life safety code requirements and with Engineering staff to ensure compliance with drainage, grading and steep slope requirements.

Planner Hours

In an effort to serve our customers better, the Community Development Department is pleased to provide Planner Office Hours.  During this time, planning staff will be available to meet with realtors, residents, architects, business owners, contractors and others.  No appointment needed.  This time is intended to provide an opportunity to ask brief questions and get basic information.  For in depth discussions or review of projects, a separate appointment may still need to be scheduled.

Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Each walk-in customer will be offered a 10 minute time slot. Customers will be assisted on a first come, first served basis.  Please sign in at the front counter.
