BUILDING PERMITS & INSPECTIONS |
Permit Applications
are available in our office and on-line. Please make sure you
have the most up-to-date permit applications as older forms will
not be accepted. Building Permits are required to ensure
that minimum building standards are met for your safety, as well
as that of future property owners and occupants of your home.
Inspections can be scheduled

HISTORIC PRESERVATION |
Platted in 1857, Lake Forest, Illinois is among the
earliest 19th-Century communities planned following the
picturesque principles used in English gardens and rural
parks and cemeteries. It is equally famous for quality
residential, religious, educational, and public
architecture and for the many notable persons who made
their homes here. Planned as “a city in a park,” the
town treasures and preserves the ravines, Lake Michigan
beach and bluff, and prairie of its Midwestern heritage
while also featuring outstanding architecture.
