The City of Lake Forest requires payment of a $3.00 daily fee or purchase of a hang tag parking permit to park in one of the Central Business District (CBD) or train station parking lots. The location of these lots can be viewed by clicking on the link above. A parking permit does not include the Forest Park Beach parking lots. Parking permits can be purchased at the Municipal Services Building, 110 E. Laurel Avenue, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Questions regarding parking permits can be directed to 847-615-4675.

Monthly and yearly CBD parking permits purchased at the Municipal Services Building will be mailed to the purchaser's address (not handed over the counter.)

Daily Parking
For a fee of $3.00, daily parking is available in the numbered parking spaces located at Westminster, Oakwood and North Shore parking lots in the CBD area and the Telegraph Road Train Station parking lot at Everett and Telegraph Roads. Located near the designated daily parking area in these lots is an upright box that has numbered slots which correspond to a numbered parking space. Individuals wishing to use a daily parking space are required to deposit bills, coins or a token in the corresponding slot.

Tokens can be purchased at City Hall (220 E. Deerpath) and the Municipal Services Center (110 E. Laurel Avenue) on weekdays during regular business hours; the Northern Trust Bank train depot facility during business hours Monday through Friday; and all Lake Forest Bank and Trust facilities during business hours Monday through Saturday. An envelope of 10 tokens costs $25, which is a savings of $5.00 for the tokens valued at $30. Commuters can also pay the daily parking fee in bills or coins at a cost of $3.00 each day.

Yearly Parking Permits
Yearly parking hang tags are valid from May 1 through April 30. The yearly fee for a resident parking permit is $313. Non-residents may also purchase a Central Business District (CBD) parking permit, which is valid only at the CBD parking lots requiring the permit and the CBD train station parking lots. The yearly non-resident fee is $626. Only monthly or annual parking hang tags are accepted at the Fort Sheridan lot at Sheridan and Old Elm Roads. The prices are prorated throughout the year (see schedule below).  If permit is lost/stolen, the current price for the permit will apply.
