Enjoy a sampling of sensational sweets when Gale Gand, named
Pastry Chef of the Year by The James Beard Foundation
and Bon Appetit magazine in 2001comes to Dickinson Hall.
She'll demonstrate the creation of a Spring Pavlova and then
you'll have a chance to taste it and talk with Gale. Her
cookbooks will be available for sale.

Juliette Lowe (1860-1927) was the founder of the Girl Scouts
of the USA. A wealthy socialite of the US and Great Britain,
she spent most of her life enjoying the recreations of the
privileged classes. After meeting the founder of the Boy
Scouts, Sir Robert Baden-Powell, she discovered a social
cause to which she would devote the rest of her life. Don't
miss Ms. Means fantastic portrayal of Juliette Lowe at
Dickinson Hall.

Desmond LaPlace: Autographs & Photographs of WW II

Desmond, a Men's Club member addressed our group three years
ago about his amazing WW II autograph and photo collection.
He has over 1,000 letters and photos of almost every WW II
military leader, collected during the war when he was a
teenager. He will tell us his plans for his collection and
also update us on a fascinating recent development with one
of his most famous military correspondents.
