Transportation for Seniors
Seniors may schedule a ride in the Senior Car for travel
between the hours of 8:45 a.m. and
4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. A coupon for
10 one-way rides costs $30.00 ($20.00 for individuals qualifying for the
Circuit Breaker Program). Rides are generally confined to Lake Forest, Lake
Bluff and Knollwood, but exceptions are made on an individual basis.

The senior bus is equipped with a wheelchair lift. Besides
individual rides to appointments, visits, etc., there are
trips to various shopping centers each week. These trips are
open to all Lake Forest-Lake Bluff senior residents and the
physically-challenged of any age.
A Subsidized Taxi Program is available to seniors 65 years
of age and over who do not drive, who are residents of Lake
Forest, Lake Bluff and Knollwood. You may obtain 16 coupons
every 30 days which will give you $3.00 off the price of
your ride within the Lake Forest High School District. You
may register for this program by visiting the Senior Center
at 100 East Old Mill Road in Lake Forest.
Volunteer Driving Escorts provide rides by special
