Pet Licenses

Every owner who keeps, harbors, or otherwise maintains a dog or cat more than four months of age in the City shall register such dog or cat and procure and pay for a pet license each year.  The license year is May 1 - April 30.

No dog shall be permitted to run at large in The City of Lake Forest. Dogs must be leashed in all City parks, and owners are required to clean up after their dogs.  No dog shall be permitted, except on a leash, to use or be upon any public street, sidewalk, or parkway. Dogs are not permitted at Forest Park Beach.

Pet Licenses are available for purchase online with your unique User ID and Pin. Just click on: Purchase Pet LicenseThe  fee for the pet license tag is $10 each. The Police Department can easily identify the owner of a pet found running loose by the number on the pet license tag. The tags are also available for purchase at the Municipal Services Building, 800 N Field Drive. Hours of operation are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday.

Dog $10.00 Nov. 1 half year: $5.00 for new dog
Cat $10.00 Nov. 1 half year: $5.00 for new cat
Replacement of lost tag $1.00
