BASEBALL CLINIC - Sunday, February 28, 2010

The Lake Forest Police Department Baseball Clinic is one of the largest free, not-for-profit, community based programs in the country. The LFPD funds the program by offering shirts with the clinic’s logo every year to participants and volunteers.

The clinic began in 1999 with approximately 80 participants between the ages of 9-14, and roughly 20 volunteers from the LFPD and Lake Forest High School Baseball team. The 2009 Baseball Clinic had over 225 players and 70 volunteers from the community.

The 2010 Clinic, which will be our 10th annual, is excited to have the Lake County Fielders, Lake County's new minor league baseball team, owned by "Field of Dreams" and "Bull Durham" star Kevin Costner, out to promote their upcoming season.  Also returning, will be instructors from BatSpeed Academy in Gurnee and Tommy John III, of Tommy John Baseball Performance in Lake Forest.

To be eligible to participate in the clinic the player must live in Lake Forest, Lake Bluff, Knollwood, or have a parent employed by The City of Lake Forest.

This year's clinic will be on Sunday, February 28, 2010, at the Chicago Bears indoor practice facility, the Walter Payton Center. To participate, download and print the forms below. All forms must be completed and submitted to the Lake Forest Police Department by Sunday, February 14, 2010, for the player to be considered enrolled. The first 125 players for each group will be accepted. The group breakdown is:

5th - 8th grade 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
3rd - 4th grade 2:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.

Please arrive ½ hour before the start time for registration.

The Lake Forest Police Department wishes to thank Lake Forest High School’s Baseball Coaches and Players, The Chicago Bears Organization, Lake Bluff Baseball Association, Lake Forest Baseball Association, Lake County Fielders, Tommy John Baseball Performance, BatSpeed Academy, and Kiddles Sporting Goods for their generous support of our baseball clinic.
