It was a sad day along Lake Michigan shoreline communities on January 11 as the high wave action accompanying the winter rain/snow storm caused widespread damage. Lake Forest's beach, roadways and walkways down to the beach will remain closed until the cleanup is finished.

High waves caused sand and debris to wash up on the brick walkway and parking lots. Also, crews reported some damage on areas of the walkway and concrete. Both of the north and south roadways to the beach were not affected.
