The City Clerk is custodian of all documents belonging to the City not assigned to the custody of another officer. These documents include City Council meeting minutes, executed contracts, licenses and permits.

The City Clerk also:

  • acts as the local Registrar for Birth and Death records;
  • handles Freedom of Information requests for public records;
  • coordinates election and Voter Registration activities; and
  • issues landscaping licenses

Prevailing Wage

State statute requires that all public bodies awarding contracts for public work should abide by current prevailing wage rates and regulations.  The State of Illinois issued the latest version of prevailing wage, found here.
