Transportation

Dickinson Hall’s Transportation Program has a car and two wheelchair accessible buses available for the transportation needs of eligible residents and is intended to serve senior and disabled persons in Lake Forest and Lake Bluff. Please call 847-234-2209 for more information or to schedule a ride.

 

Our car is driven by friendly and professional drivers and rides are available from 9:00 am – 3:30 pm for local area appointments, errands and visits to Dickinson Hall. Scheduling is on a first-come, first-serve basis and medical appointments take priority. Rides are $3.00 each way, with a reduced fare of $2.00 for individuals who qualify for the Benefits Access Program. Tipping is not permitted.

 

We also offer weekly scheduled trips to Hawthorn Mall as well local grocery stores.

 

Dial-A-Ride

 

PACE has expanded its Dial-A-Ride program, which serves older (60+) and disabled individuals living in Lake Forest, Lake Bluff and Knollwood. Destinations include parts of Shields Township and Lake Forest, plus other select locations. The bus service operates Monday – Friday, 6:00 am – 6:00 pm, and costs $3.00 one way. Call Shields Township Offices at 847-234-0802 for more information. (Note: Registration must be completed one week prior to use of the program)

 

Local Taxi Options

 

Several local taxi companies offer a $3.00 off ride coupon for seniors (65+) for transportation within Lake Forest High School District 115 only. You may request 16 coupons in a 30-day period. For more information and to register for the program, please contact Janet Fryer at 847-810-4676.
