Update:

The Compost/Recycling Center, located at 1381 W. Kennedy Road (south side of Rte. 60, west of Waukegan Road) will re-open for business on Saturday, May 30, 2020 and regular summer hours will be in effect:

Saturdays, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
Sundays, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

The Public Works Department consists of seven operating sections that provide high-quality services to the citizens of Lake Forest. These sections include Building Maintenance, Engineering, Fleet Maintenance, Sanitation, Streets, Water Plant, and Water & Sewer. 

The mission of the Public Works Department is to respond to community needs consistent with policies determined by the City Council, maintain a working environment built upon trust, respect and citizen involvement, and achieve the City’s goal of being responsive to resident needs.
