What Happens Next
The Traffic Safety Committee will gather pertinent facts from you to help define the problem and a possible solution. The Traffic Safety Committee of the City will review your request and make a recommendation, which is forwarded to the City Manager for review. The recommendation will be shared with you, noting the conclusions and justifications of the Committee for the City Manager. The City Council is required to approve any changes or amendments to the City Code.
The committee uses analytical and objective methods to review requests for traffic signals, signage, striping, crosswalks, and other traffic controls. The City adheres to all State and Federal regulations. It abides by the guidelines established in the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) regarding the installation of traffic control devices, road signs, and other traffic-related issues.
