2018 Law Enforcement Torch Run

08:00 AM - 11:00 AM

Hello Lake Forest!

It’s that time of year again for the 2018 Torch Run for Special Olympics.  The Torch Run will be Sunday June 10, 2018 beginning at approximately 8:00 A.M. For those of you who don’t know, the Torch Run supports Illinois Special Olympics by raising awareness and providing funding for athletic competition for children and adults suffering from various disabilities.

The run is from the Illinois/Wisconsin boarder to Chicago! But don’t worry, we won’t be running that whole way. We will be participating in the 6th leg of the run. Our leg begins on Sheridan Rd. at the Lake Bluff/ Lake Forest border and will continue south down Sheridan Rd. until we reach Old Elm Rd.  The distance is approximately 4 miles and we will have a police escort the entire way.

For those who would like to participate we have hats and t-shirts available for purchase (S,M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL. The 2XL is currently back ordered but we anticipate receiving them well before June).  Each item costs $15.00 and all the proceeds go directly to Illinois Special Olympics. (Please see attached photos). If you would like to participate in the run we ask that you purchase and wear your sweet merchandise on the day of the event.

If running isn’t your thing but you still want some sweet merchandise you can absolutely purchase a hat or t-shirt. Also, if you already have enough t-shirts and hats to overflow your closet, but still want to participate by making a donation you absolutely can!

If any or all of this sounds right up your alley please contact Officer Matt Jakob or  Officer Dave Miniscalco at

This event is open to EVERYONE!!! So bring your friends, family, children, and neighbor’s. Anyone you can find!

Thank you for your support and we look forward to hearing from you!
