Spend your 4th with a picnic under the stars at the annual Festival and Fireworks brought to you by the Friends of Lake Forest Parks and Recreation Foundation and generous presenting sponsor, Lake Forest Bank and Trust.
Gates open at 5:00 pm and the fun starts at 6:00 pm, when Chicago classic rock favorite 97Nine hits the stage. At 8:00pm headliner Hairball takes over.
97Nine is the premier classic rock cover band in the Midwest. Having all grown up listening to Chicago’s Loop 97.9FM rock radio, these guys take the stage each night and truly re-create that once visceral experience we all had with the music of an unmistakable era. Boasting countless years of experience honing their craft, these four brothers-in-arms command any stage with their unmatched energy and skill.
Hairball is a Rock & Roll experience you won’t forget. A band puts on a concert – Hairball puts on an event! The lights, sound, video screens, smoke, fire, bombs, confetti, spiders, snakes & monsters (oh my) and the screaming fans will hit you so hard, it’ll take a few days to recover! Don’t confuse Hairball with the countless “’80s Tribute” bands across the country. Hairball is an event; an attitude and expression of music and showmanship that isn’t a retro-flashback. It’s a way of life…and it’s not going away!
At 9:40pm, the greatest fireworks display on the North Shore begins filling the skies. A variety of food, desserts, beer, wine, soft drinks and water will be available for sale, or you can bring your own.
For more information and to order tickets go to: www.FriendsLFPR.org. Tickets will be sold in the Recreation office starting June 26.
Proceeds from the event help support the enhancement of Lake Forest Parks & Recreation Department’s programs, services, facilities and need-based activity scholarships for families in the community. Through funds raised by tax-deductible donations, the Fred Jackson Annual Golf Classic, Festival & Fireworks, Oktoberfest and Dinner with Santa events, the Friends have provided substantial funding dedicated to beautify parks, make structural improvements and expand recreational programming.
