There have been a lot of questions lately about the process underway to explore athletic field improvements at Deerpath Community Park.
Where We Are Now
The community has identified improving athletic field conditions as a priority. To address that need, the City is currently investigating the feasibility of natural and synthetic options for a sports complex at Deerpath Community Park.
What's Next
At the Capital Budget Workshop in November, City Council will review preliminary options and consider designating funds for project design. No formal decision about natural or synthetic turf will be made at the workshop. Official budget approval for a final design option would occur in March 2022. Between November and March, there will be a community engagement process with many opportunities for residents to engage and share feedback.

Prior to the November Workshop, we want to give residents a place to tell us about your priorities related to a potential Deerpath Sports Complex. We designed a short survey to do just that. The survey is now closed. Survey results will give City Council a better understanding of community sentiment on the issue when they discuss the topic at the Capital Budget Workshop in November. No formal decision about natural or synthetic turf will be made at the workshop. After the workshop, there will be a community engagement process with many opportunities for residents to engage and share feedback on natural or synthetic design options.
