Deerpath Road is Open!
Deerpath Road is now open after being closed for a week for the ComEd Bridge Replacement Project.
Thanks so much for your patience with construction activities! ComEd expedited removal of the bridge so it could occur during Spring Break to minimize impacts, so now construction activities will slow down and resume early summer once bridge materials are manufactured and fabricated.
The sidewalk on the north side of Deerpath Road is open; the sidewalk on the south side is still closed between Route 41 and Ahwahnee Lane.
Even though Deerpath Road is open, pedestrian and bicycle traffic on the Skokie Valley Bike Path will continue to be rerouted to Laurel Avenue or Westleigh Road until the new bridge is complete.
In other Deerpath Road news, work on the Deerpath Water Main Replacement Project will continue next week in the parkway area on the north side of Deerpath Road on the east and west side of the creek near Golf Lane. Flaggers will be directing traffic between 9 am - 3 pm.
