Construction Activities Continue on Deerpath Community Park Improvement Project

Construction on the Deerpath Community Park Improvement Project began in March and will last through mid-October.

The project involves installing synthetic turf athletic fields and additional amenities for the community park, including two restroom buildings with shaded open-air pavilions, renovated tennis/pickleball courts, a playground, fitness stations, and natural area enhancements.

Update as of 8/18/23:

As summer is winding down, construction on the Deerpath Community Park Improvement Project continues to hit major milestones. Now that final grading and field base construction are almost complete, the project has officially transitioned to the turf installation phase! Earlier this week, crews began installing the turf system. Truck traffic is expected to return to a more moderate level during this phase.

Based on direction from the community, the City Manager's Advisory Group, and City Council, the turf system includes the most environmentally sensitive elements on the market. The turf system includes cradle to cradle certified Brock USA YSR PowerBase Shockpad to ensure all critical player safety measures are met; BrockFILL infill, a highly engineered 100% organic wood particle infill; and IRONTURF turf which is an industry leading turf carpet product known for both its durability and recyclability.

What you need to know:
- A majority of construction activities will be confined to the project site, which includes Deerpath Community Park fields and tennis courts.
- Access will remain open at all times to the Recreation Center, Public Safety Building, and Deer Path Middle School.
- To limit impacts to Deerpath Middle School families, students, and staff, the most impactful parts of the project are planned for the summer months when school is not in session. When school is in session, the contractor will work to limit impacts during pick up and drop off times.
- There will be increased truck traffic along Deerpath Road and south of Deerpath on Golf Lane during portions of the project when trucks will be delivering and hauling away materials.

What will the finished project look like?
