Old Elm Parking Lot Closed Through July 31
The Old Elm Parking Lot (located at the corner of Sheridan Road and Old Elm Road) will be closed from July 21-31 while the existing pavement is replaced.
Based on recommendations from the City's Environmental Sustainability Committee, the project also features several sustainable elements, including the installation of an Electric Vehicle charging station and special stormwater quality structure.
This stormwater structure replaces the existing storm sewer structure immediately downstream of the parking lot and will remove hydrocarbons and sediment prior to discharging to the Forest Preserve.
