Get Ready for #CityHallSelfie Day

Get your angles, lighting, and smiles ready – the sixth annual #CityHallSelfie Day is Friday, August 13, 2021!

#CityHallSelfie Day is a worldwide celebration of local government service, hosted by Engaging Local Government Leaders (ELGL). #CityHallSelfie Day invites you to show your local gov love by sharing pictures in front of city halls and other government buildings. Participants take a self-portrait (selfie) in front of a city hall and share it using the hashtag #CityHallSelfie.

The City of Lake Forest is inviting residents, elected officials, and City employees to participate in #CityHallSelfie Day on Friday, August 13. Each year, ELGL recognizes #CityHallSelfie award winners in multiple categories so we’re hoping for a strong turnout from Lake Foresters to earn some bragging rights for Lake Forest!

How to Participate:

  1. Take a picture of yourself or a group in front of Lake Forest City Hall (220 E Deerpath) or another City building. While the official #CityHallSelfie Day is Friday, August 13, you can take pictures in advance to share on that day.
  2. Post the picture on social media with the hashtag #CityHallSelfie.
  3. Tag @CityofLakeForestIL on Facebook and Instagram!

You can also email pictures to for a chance to be featured on the City’s social media pages.
