Will Howard - Sailing Supervisor
Will started sailing in the Lake Forest Sailing program when he was 10 years old. Will followed the racing track at LFS and found himself racing Optimist Dinghy around the country and the world. He grew into Lasers which became his favorite boat to race. Will raced Lasers on the international circuit. His Laser accomplishments include being the youngest sailor at the Radial Youth Worlds in the Hague, Netherlands and competing in several High School National Championships, US Sailing Youth Championships and Men's Single Handed Championships. Sailing for the Lake Forest High School Scouts, Will made it to several team racing and fleet racing national championships in the 420 scholastic dinghy. Apart from racing, he has been teaching young sailors in the community how to sail, race and enjoy the lake since 2009. Will has learned from many greats coaches and is excited for his experiences as a Lake Forest Sailor to come full circle.
Will attended the U.S. Coast Guard Academy for two years and graduated from the University of Miami, FL with a degree in Business Management. At LFS, he acts as the Head Coach for the high school sailing racing program and the Optimist racing program and was recently promoted to Program Supervisor of Lake Forest Sailing.
Scott Norman - Sailing Supervisor
Scott comes to Lake Forest from St. Petersburg, Florida where he spent 13 years as the Southeast Aftermarket Sales Manager for Harken Yacht Equipment. Scott also serves as the Director of Coaching and Head Coach for the US Optimist National Team and Development Team. Scott helped create the U.S. National Team in 1995 and has been a driving force of the US Optimist Team’s success ever since. Scott has experience running major programs such as Eckerd College Sailing, Lauderdale Yacht Club and numerous private racing teams.
