Gary Kantor’s Magic Class
Is magic in your heart? Has your child always wondered about the mystery of the magician? This class will help your little wizard learn a few tricks of the trade. Children are guaranteed to have a great time as they learn fascinating tricks! Amaze family and friends with tricks that involve cards, ropes, coins, mind-reading and more. While the tricks may appear difficult, you’ll discover that they are quick to learn and easy to perform. All materials are provided and each child receives a magic kit to take home. Children are grouped by age and always learn tricks that are age-appropriate. Additionally, you can sign up for this class again and again since brand new tricks are always taught each session!


Wooden Creations
Woodshop and Recreation has come to Everett Park! Through use of wood, nails,hammer, glue, sand paper and paint you can create a new hobby and some very fun projects. Wooden Creations uses expert instruction and your child’s skill to build usable items from wood. Please send a peanut-free snack and drink each week with your child. Supervision will be provided for Everett students from 2:50- 3:30 p.m. for an additional fee.


Safe Sitter Workshop
The Safe Sitter program is a medically accurate childcare curriculum designed to prepare 11- 13 year olds to be safe and nurturing babysitters. Our instructors will teach important life skills- business, medical, and safe habits- in this high quality course. Lake Forest Parks and Recreation sponsors this competency based, highly structured interactive program. Students learn about a wide variety of topics through discussion, practice and role-play. Note: Please bring a peanut free lunch and drink to the full day session, and a peanut free snack and drink to the half day session. Children must attend all classes to receive their completion card.


Young Chefs
Engage your young chef in an interactive class of culinary creation! Young Chefs uses expert instruction and child-led design to whip up some delicious recipes. Whether your child wants to master snacks, appetizers or desserts, they will be sure to ‘relish’ in the fun of this class! Supervision for Everett students will be provided after-school from 2:50-3:30 p.m. for an additional fee.

3D Video Game World Design
Learn the fundamentals involved in creating your own 3D video game worlds! With a simple click and roll of a mouse wheel you can modify your world however you want. Work in teams to develop and storyboard your game design and learn to place animals, trees, characters, and other items in your own virtual world! Also learn the basic subsystems and scripting entailed in a 3D game system. If you like 2-D, you will love 3-D!! Program run by COMPUTER EXPLORERS of Northeastern Chicagoland.


JR. FUN-Gineering w/ LEGOS
Young Engineers will use LEGO simple machine kits to learn about structures and forces, levers, wheels and axles, pullys and gears! Working in pairs, you'll learn what Engineers do by building working models of vehicles, cranes and other fun projects! If time permits, we will also experiment using motors to bring our machines to life and participate in a Catapult Challenge the last day of class. Program run by COMPUTER EXPLORERS of Northeastern Chicagoland.


Robotics Adventures!
You have been 'hired' to work at C.A.K.E. (Creative Answers Kids Engineering Company)! Receiving daily EWR's (engineering work request), you'll work in teams to learn about robotics, and build & program your own robotic creations using the LEGO WeDo Robotics System. This unique system, designed by the experts at MIT, teaches about simple machines, engineering, programming and so much more. Young Imaginations soar! Program run by COMPUTER EXPLORERS of Northeastern Chicagoland.


Video Game Animation
Dive into the world of video game animation by creating characters that dance, sing and interact with one another. Working in pairs, you'll add sound effects and music clips to create a dynamic video animation game by using Scratch - software created just for kids. Creativity rules in this fun version of video game design! Program run by COMPUTER EXPLORERS of Northeastern Chicagoland.
