City of Lake Forest, IL

As a courtesy, the City provides notification to Lake Forest residents when assessment notices have been mailed out by Lake County. These notices, also commonly referred to as “blue cards,” are sent out to notify property owners of assessment value changes. The mailing of assessment notices initiates a very brief appeal period of only 30 days. Assessment value changes are also published in the newspaper.

Lake County requires all property assessment appeals to be done electronically. Taxpayers are encouraged to contact their local township assessor’s office if they have questions regarding the valuation of their property. Please visit the Lake County website for more information.
